Meanwhile, if we again talk about the mammoth new parliament building, it boasts of more space and much-advanced technology. It has huge windows which can be called as Vastu-friendly. The 64,500 square meters building combines modern and cultural features, equipped with all the latest technology while also accounting for India’s heritage by taking architectural influences from famous historic buildings like the Rashtrapati Bhavan

Now, it is clear that India is adopting Vastu-friendly buildings, homes, factories etc., for the simple reason that it brings peace, tranquility and sanity. The new Indian Parliament House is believed to have been made according to the principles of Vastu. While it is not clear whether Vastu principles have been specifically incorporated into the design of the new Parliament House building, it is said that some general Vastu-related considerations have been kept in mind during the construction.

Says Dr J P Trikha, an internationally acclaimed Vastu expert and teacher, “ If the new parliament house is made according to Vastu, then it augurs very well for the country as now we would see sanity there and useful debates."

One must know that Vastu means Science of Architecture. It is an ancient architecture that was practiced in India in the past. The basic ideology behind the use of Vastu is to have a tension free better life. He adds “Vastu is a Sanskrit word. Vastu has some very clear-cut rules. For instance, east facing is good for wisdom. North for wealth as it is believed that Kuber, the God of wealth, lives in North direction.” It is important to know that Vastu plays a significant role in our lives. It creates positive cosmic energy. Those who live or work at a Vastu compliant place lead a healthier and happier lifestyle.

According to Dr J P Trikha, “Even if your stars are good, it won't give you required results if Vastu dosh is there. Clearly, the role Vastu plays in our lives is huge.” Vastu experts say that the new Parliament house is designed in a triangular shape, which is considered beneficial for the flow of positive energy and conducive to decision-making. One hopes that it would see meaningful dialogues among ruling and the opposition parties. The previous parliament house though very good in terms of architecture had witnessed hundreds of acrimonious debates as it was not built according to Vastu tips.

“Always avoid South facing house or office as it is not an ideal position in Vastu. However, it is the South-West direction that is called terrible. If the entry of any building, factory, house is in this direction, it would never work for the person he/she owns it,” says Dr J P Trikha, who has authored many research based articles in the name of Pt J P Sharma as well.

You might remember that when Bollywood super star Akshay Kumar built his abode according to Vastu couple of years ago, it evoked lot of reaction. Now celebrities/ commoners across India love to buy or build Vastu-friendly homes. It goes without saying that people go for Vastu-friendly buildings and homes for the simple reason as this is a science that keeps your life free from all tensions and troubles. Those who live in Vastu-friendly homes say that they feel the difference once they shift from normal building/ home to Vastu-friendly structures.

Dr J P Trikha says that if the main entrance of the new building or house faces east, and then you can consider yourself lucky. This direction is considered an auspicious direction in Vastu. “Puja room should be in the east side. For wisdom North is fine. However, best direction is North-East corner for temple where you perform puja.”

Relax if your house is not built according to Vastu rules. You don’t have to worry. You can still renovate it to make it according to the principles of Vastu.

Now even builders make Vastu-friendly homes as it attracts buyers thick and fast. Dr J P Trikha, who has been practicing the science of Vastu since decades, says, “Vastu aims at using rules and techniques to optimize the benefits of nature's positive energies by aligning geometric patterns, symmetry, and directions.” He makes it clear that Vastu is an ancient science with clear-cut guidelines on how to design your homes and offices. I strongly feel that if you incorporate Vastu tips into your home design, you would make it a space that is harmonious, balanced, and conducive to overall well-being."

According to Dr Rakesh Gupta, the Chairman of Sadhna TV channel, “I know many friends of mine have built their houses and offices in various parts of the country according to Vastu. Even builders are making Vastu-friendly homes for the simple reasons that now buyers look for flats/ homes that are made according to the time-tested science.”

“Vastu establishes a connection between the physical environment and quality of life. It promotes happiness and good health of the mind,” says Dr J P Trikha. Always keep it in your mind that natural light is important in Vastu. Therefore, it is paramount for you that your home is well-lit. It must have lot of windows facing east or north. Avoid placing heavy furniture in front of windows, as this can block the flow of positive energy into the home, he added.

Meanwhile, if we again talk about the mammoth new parliament building, it boasts of more space and much-advanced technology. It has huge windows which can be called as Vastu-friendly. The 64,500 square metres building combines modern and cultural features, equipped with all the latest technology while also accounting for India’s heritage by taking architectural influences from famous historic buildings like the Rashtrapati Bhavan.

Finally, Dr Trikha exhorts the government to make all the new buildings according to Vastu rules. It is a time-tested science that should be encouraged. It only gives better results for all those who live or use such buildings. Now even Vastu principles are also used in the western countries.
